  1. Hi! How old is your dog? Charlie is starting to fill out a little. He is about 2 and the size of your dog. Some family members are commenting that he is getting fat. Do you think this is normal for a cavalier?

  2. Thomas you do look VERY regal on that blankie! I just love that more full look of a Cavalier. Jasper is so fluffy that everyone thinks he is fat, but it's all fur. Marley is a skinnier build. Our first Cavalier Brinkley was in between. I love how Thomas and Charlie look. We do have to be careful not to overfeed them hey? It's hard to resist those eyes. My vet keeps telling me only one meal a day now that they are two, but it's hard sometimes to say NO! From what I've seen they do come in different shapes and sizes, you just have to look at a Cavalier calender and you can see that. Don't worry girls - you're boys are gorgeous!

  3. Thomas was very very skinny, we neuter him when he was 6 months old and he never gained any weight, but after 6 month he started filling out and that was the case with Thomas' brother as well... I think as they get a little older they are less hyper, and makes their metabolism slow down.
It is very normal with KCC to gain wait as they get older, what my vet suggested is that we cut his calorie intake, he is 24 pounds now, but he should be more like 22...
I prefer them a little chunky to tell you the truth :)

  4. I have not been feeding him once a day, we give him dry food twice a day, but we are giving him half each time, I feel so bad, the poor thing just likes to eat :( but you are right you need to watch what your Cav eats, they can get a little too chunky really fast....

  5. We don't feed Charlie people food. We do give him a lot of tricks for his treats. I just want him to be healthy.
