Two weeks ago we visited our good friend and photographer Brett Chisholm, he is so amazing with the camera, that we have had a hard time to pick the pictures to display! Thomas and Leo loved working with Brett, he has a very unique touch with pups, Leo did jumped off the stage several times, but for being his first photo shoot I think he did pretty decent! We are so excited to welcome the fall season with some new pics! does someone else have some cute pics to share with us? Upload them to out fb page!

Since we move into our new home we have been overwhelmed with events and changes all over the place.

Leonard, is doing great, growing like a weed, and learning better manners too! Although he dies not out his toys away like Thomas.

Sinclair, my 4 year old sister in law, has a turtle named Roman, he is kept in a very nice box with his heating lamp, food, water and comfy hay.... Thomas have never paid attention to Roman until tonight!!! He actually was barking at his cage and trying to get in there! Finally he just sat on top of his box and this was when I caught him!

So my husband made some fried calamari last night as an appetizer for us and some friends, they were delicious... Anyways, since I guess boys should not be trusted in the kitchen, He got rid of the massive amount of olive oil by pouring it into a flower bed.... Yes, you read it right! I had no clue until today Thomas comes to me very slimy and stinky! He discovered this oil with calamari left overs and decided to dig in! I have bathed him twice and still some of his hair is yucky, suggestions?

A few weeks ago I received a pleasant email from Marshal Zeringue, author of Coffe with a Canine Blog, it is a cute blog that interviews pet owners about sharing afternoons with their puppies, and sharing a cup a coffee with them...

It made me think of how special is Thomas and at the same time I enjoyed reading about different dog breeds, their behaviors, likes and dislikes. It was so much fun to do this interview, it was sometimes hard to choose one answer to each question, I realized how many little details I enjoy from having Thomas with me, and how much I love him!!!

Do you remember Spicy? Well, he is Thomas' half brother who lives with my parents in Ecuador, he is sooo cute! Thomas goes to the Farmer's Market

A couple of weeks ago I took Thomas to the farmer's market at City Hall in Downtown Houston, we are very excited about this new venture the city is putting together, it not only brings more community interaction in the downtown area which is mainly crowded by corporate tenants that desert the area at 6 pm, but also promotes small businesses and local farmers.

It also provides a great promenade for downtown dwellers like me, and it's a perfect little spot to visit with such a nice weather this time of year!

Thomas' first Halloween to get an actual costume, I was so excited! I decided he should be a yellow submarine, I love the song, and I though he would look cute in this chunky costume... Here is how the whole dressing up went...

Here is a little more information about Chilly the Aeros' mascot, his origin and involvement with the community! Enjoy!

“Chilly” comes from a distinguished family of canines and war heroes. His Great Great Grandog Colonel “Ace” led the Air Force in several air-raids over enemy territory in WWI. He received the Purple Heart and distinguished service award for saving his bomber crew after crash landing behind enemy lines.

His Grandog, Sgt. Zam, went down in the history books for completing over 56 missions during WWII. His father Chill E. Dog, Sr. has made his mark in the entertainment world as being a stunt double for Rin Tin Tin and also staring in his last movie K-9 with Jim Belushi. Chill E., Sr. was recognized for his dashing moves, quick reflexes, brilliant escapes and crime fighting which was passed along to now world renowned K-9 “Chilly”.

“Chilly” was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island where he looked up to his father and wanted to achieve the greatness of his relatives. “Chilly” attended DePaw University where he graduated with high honors in Human and Sports Entertainment. After receiving his degree, “Chilly” was immediately contacted and was named the official mascot of the Houston Aeros Hockey Club.

Since “Chilly” started with the Houston Aeros he took the International Hockey League (IHL) by storm, and now the American Hockey League (AHL). This weekend at the farm Thomas discovered lots and lots of kitty cats around... this was the first one he saw, surprisingly he did not tried to scare the cat away, he actually came closer and tried to figure this guys out...

We use to come to Tranquility Park all the time until the weather got terrible in Houston, but now the weather is getting nicer and we can take longer walks! Today was our first longer walk, Thomas had a blast, he surely missed the sound of the falling water while we stroll and the smell of freshly cut grass everywhere!

An advice from the bottom of my heart...

Today I got the sad news about the death of a relative, I would like to share with you something I learned today, never let a moment pass you by; say I love you as many times you can; and don't take life for granted.

My 50 year old aunt went to sleep two nights ago, and never woke up. She suffered brain death cause by a sudden brain hemorrhage also known like aneurysm. I can not imagine how it must be for her husband, daughter and sons that could not say goodbye one last time, and maybe with them they'll carry many conversations that they left untouched cause they can always happen some other day...

Her soul and family will be on my prayers, but I had to share this with you, cause I think sometimes we need to be grateful for each breath we take and enjoy life!

Great Book

I know this is a blog about dogs, but I came through this collection of books and I had to get one for my little sister. The books are for kids on 2nd grade to 4th grade and they follow a group CIA cats solving mysteries around the world... In their stories they include around 300 words in native tongue with their definition in a glossary after each chapter, and they also include cultural tips, traditions and history. So keep them in mind for your Christmas list!

When it's too quiet in the car is because something is going on... I turn around and Thomas has broken into the groceries bag and drag out a bag of chicken jerky I got for him...and proceed to eat out of it! Thank God I caught him and he only took a few out! Kuddos for sneakyness!

Thomas is not a big fan of the cracks between the pieces of wood in the deck over the lake.. think being able to see the water under him freaks him out a little... but still as a good model he lets mommy take some cute pictures!

A few week ago we were in New York, sadly Thomas could not come with us, but we made a new friend, his name is Teddy, and he is the cutest thing ever! He will be receiving some Gruffins, very very soon! I just love making new friends!

I have a puppy named Thomas, I absolutely love him, but I realize that there are millions of other puppies around the United States that do not have the same luck as Thomas. There are thousands of shelters that have no resources to feed and take care of all the abandoned puppies they have taken upon their care.

That's why I am writing this blog post 'cause Pedigree is donating a 20 pound bag of dry food to a shelter for every blog that post the following link http://www.facebook.com/Pedigree, plus for every person that actually likes the page on facebook they'll be donating a bowl of food as well.

Last labor day weekend we went to Toledo Bend, Thomas had an amazing time being captain of the boat. The weather was a little too hot, poor Thomas has too much fur on him for Texas summer, we might need to flee from Texas next year....
